I had a lovely stay at Portobay Liberdade, enjoying the hotel's quiet atmosphere and friendly staff. The location was perfect, allowing easy access to Avenida de Liberdade and local attractions. However, there were a few minor issues, like some discrepancies with our room service bill and a wait for our taxi. Overall, it offered great value for a 4-star experience.

Rooms

My superior room was small but comfortable, featuring a nice balcony for morning sun. The bed was very comfortable, and the clean presented bathroom had quality toiletries. Though the room could have used some dusting in high places, it was generally well-maintained.
Service
9.0
The service was consistently excellent. The staff were polite, professional, and attentive, doing their best to resolve any hiccups quickly. They genuinely contributed to a pleasant experience, from reception to dining.
Location

The hotel's location was fantastic, just off the beautiful Avenida de Liberdade. It was surrounded by a mix of exclusive shops and good small markets, making it perfect for exploring the vibrant area of Lisbon.
Dining

I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with a variety of options. The restaurant, Bistro 4, also had a decent menu, although I would have preferred more healthy side options during my meals. The overall quality of the food was commendable.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had great facilities, including a relaxing rooftop bar and a well-maintained spa. However, I didn't utilize the gym or pool due to being too tired from exploring. I appreciated the room service for in-room dining convenience.

I had a pretty good stay overall at the hotel, but there were definitely some highs and lows. The deluxe room I booked was spacious and clean, with a nice quiet balcony, which was a real treat. However, the service at the front desk didn't quite meet my expectations, as they seemed a bit indifferent. The location was spot-on, making it easy for me to explore the city without any hassle.

Rooms

The deluxe room I stayed in was roomy and clean, featuring a small balcony that overlooked a quiet courtyard. It felt more like a mini apartment than just a hotel room.
Service
6.0
While the friendly porters made me feel welcome upon arrival, the front desk staff lacked attentiveness, particularly regarding my requests. Guest relations, however, were really good, especially Betsy, who helped me with my transportation issues.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was super convenient, just a short stroll from major sights like Praca de Figueria. Plus, being close to the metro made getting around Lisbon a breeze.
Dining

Breakfast was definitely a highlight for me, with a fantastic spread that was fresh and varied. Dining at Bistro4 was also a great experience, and I found the restaurant staff attentive and professional.
Facilities

The common areas were well-maintained, and I appreciated the prompt room service. However, I didn’t get to try out the spa facilities unfortunately since I was busy exploring the city.

My stay at Portobay Liberdade was good, highlighted by the really good service from the staff and the fantastic breakfast options. However, there were a few hiccups, such as a noisy construction view from my initial room and a couple of service lapses at the rooftop bar.

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, featuring a comfortable bed with a memory foam topper and excellent natural light. Though I did face an annoyance with construction noise and privacy issues related to the bathroom layout.
Service
8.0
The hospitality was generally wonderful. Most staff members were polite and professional, especially the doorman Ricardo and concierge Ines Maria, who were exceptionally attentive. Yet, I encountered some inconsistency with service at the rooftop bar.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is superb, nestled in a quieter area yet just a short walk from vibrant neighborhoods like Bairro Alto and Avenida de Liberdade. This proximity made sightseeing very convenient for me.
Dining

Breakfast was a highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options. I dined at Bistro4 once, enjoying the chef's specials, although I wished for more healthy vegetable choices. Room service was prompt when I used it.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were well-maintained, including the spa, which I found relaxing. However, I would suggest improving the coffee situation in the rooms since refills came at a cost—something I expected to be complimentary in a five-star setting.

My stay at Portobay Liberdade was an overall great experience, with a beautiful location, high standards of cleanliness, and exceptionally friendly staff 😊. However, I did encounter minor issues with room service billing and delays with taxi requests. These small frustrations didn't overshadow the fantastic ambiance and amenities of the hotel.

Rooms
9.0
My room was spacious and beautifully designed, boasting a large balcony and a comfortable bed. The amenities, including Rituals toiletries, added a touch of luxury. However, I did notice some dust on the high shelves that could use attention.
Service
8.0
The service was generally exemplary, with staff being polite and welcoming. I appreciated the personal touches, such as a handwritten card for our anniversary. Unfortunately, I experienced a delay when I had to wait over an hour for a taxi at one point.
Location

The hotel’s location was ideal, just off the prominent Avenida de Liberdade and perfect for exploring the city. It provided a quieter setting while still being within walking distance of major attractions.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of fresh options, including delicious pao de queijo. I did find the on-site dining prices a bit steep, especially for items like water and bread.
Facilities

The spa area was lovely, featuring a warm indoor pool and rooftop jacuzzi, though I did find the pricing for treatments a bit high. Overall, facilities were well-maintained and added comfort to my stay.

I had a mix of experiences during my stay. While the staff were friendly and the location was perfect for exploring Lisbon, the stained carpets in my room were a huge downside. The rooftop bar and spa were definite highlights, adding to the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and comfortable, but I found the stained carpets very disappointing. However, it featured a lovely balcony and modern bathroom.
Service

The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially at reception, making my experience more enjoyable despite the room issues. They even sent cake and wine for my birthday, which was a thoughtful touch.
Location

I loved that the hotel was set in a quiet area, yet still just a short walk from many attractions and restaurants. It was also close to public transport, which made exploring easy.
Dining

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, offering a great variety. The restaurant on-site was excellent too, but I did wish the coffee could have been better for a hotel of this caliber.
Facilities

The pool area and rooftop bar provided a lovely atmosphere. The spa treatments were fantastic, although I did experience some noise from nearby construction.
